A showing is a chance to check the layout, heating, and condition of a home. It’s also the best time to ask where you’d put the Christmas tree. Some of the questions that sound silly are the quickest way to find out whether the house would work for you.
Where would you put your shoes, coat, and groceries when you get home?
Will the couch fit through the door, or have you finally found an excuse to buy a new one?
Can you see the TV from the kitchen, and do you actually want to?
Is there a sunny spot for the dog and somewhere to hide the laundry that’s technically clean?
Where would you drink your morning coffee?
Stand where you’d prep dinner, walk from the main bedroom to the bathroom, and picture where everyone would put their coats on a wet day. The little things you do twice a day can matter more once you move in than the feature you noticed first.
